Founded in 1891, the company has experienced a changing history, ranging from total destruction during World War II, the nationalization during the times of the German Democratic Republic (DDR) as part of the porcelain combine Kahla until its insolvency in 2004 and a new start under CEO Rolf Frowein in 2005.
Since the acquisition of the trademark „Eschenbach“ the factory in Triptis primarily produces porcelain for hotels and restaurants, while the product ranges of the Triptis Porzellan and Graf von Henneberg brands complement the product portfolio.

The new porcelain COOK & SERVE l inducTHERM® allows cooking on all types of stoves. You can prepare, serve and eat meals in only one dish. If anything is left over, you can leave it in the dish and warm it up quickly at any time. This saves time, energy and washing up, is ecological and protects the environment. For this application, Eschenbach developed a new porcelain compound and a non-stick glazing to cope with the tremendous stress caused by the selective and extremely fast heat development generated by induction cookers. „Our fireproof porcelain is characterized by a very high ThermoShock resistance and is able to cope with temperatures up to 250°C,“ explains Rolf Frowein, CEO of the Eschenbach porcelain group. He adds: „With its induction cooking technology it also stands out for its high efficiency, since dishes can be cooked directly without any essential loss while the handles remain surpri-singly cool for easy transportation to the table.“ Special attention was paid to ensuring that, despite its new material composition, the porcelain offers good appearance and usability.
With a total of 7 collected prices - including the IF Design Award and the red dot Award - in the period from November 2015 to March 2016 the new cookware made of porcelain by Eschenbach can now boast. The dishes here scores in all categories – innovation, functionality and excellent design.
